This course provides a survey of basic facts and principles of organic chemistry and biochemistry. Topics include the structure, properties, and reactivity of some of the major types of organic functional groups. Other topics include carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, enzymes, nucleic acids, and metabolism. Designed for Nursing and other Allied Health majors. Not recommended for Math/Science students. Meets SUNY General Education requirement in Natural Sciences.
