This writing-intensive and discussion-based course is an upper-level philosophy/science course focused on the elements of moral philosophy, especially as they apply to emerging ethical dilemmas in science, medicine, and technology. Emphasis will be on gaining cognitive skills and applying reason to all decision-making processes, including the appropriate use of emerging science and technologies. Prerequisites: Students must have completed at least 30-credit hours, including ENGL 101, any BIOL course, and an additional science course, or permission of the instructor; philosophy course recommended.
