This course will help students develop updated understandings of computer Science Principles as well as effective strategies for teaching the computer Science Principles in K-12 classrooms. The course is designed around the Advanced Placement Computer Science Principles Curriculum Framework. This curriculum framework outlines seven central concepts of computer Science (creativity, abstraction, data and Information algorithms, programming, the Internet, global impact) and six computational thinking practices (connecting computing, creating computational artifacts, abstracting, analyzing problems and artifacts, communicating and collaborating). The course organizes these central topics around three big themes: data & Information, programming, and the Internet, with a fourth module debriefing the pedagogy Introduce throughout the course.
