This course is designed to introduce students to a variety of common medical conditions and illnesses encountered while personal training. Students will review physiologic processes that lead to conditions and gain a thorough understanding of disease processes and associated limitations. Basic program design methods will be reviewed, and students will adapt them to case studies throughout the course to create safe and effective personal training programs for a variety of special populations. This course will benefit those pursuing further education within Exercise Science, Physical Therapy or Personal Training. This course requires PE143 as a prerequisite and will serve as an open college elective.
