This course explores people's information practices in everyday life and in workplace contexts. The course will consider the theoretical and methodological approaches used in research in these areas, and focus on how people need, seek, manage, share, and use information in socially embedded contexts. Learners will engage with landmark studies and current research, and will have the opportunity to consider how research in this area can inform improvement and design of information systems and services.
