Catalog Course Description
This is a writing-intensive course in which students draft and revise college-level essays. Students study the conventions of academic prose, examine various methods of organization and development, and learn research skills.
Course Learning Outcomes
Upon completing this course, students will be able to:
1. Compose texts original to the student within common college-level formats2. Demonstrate the ability to revise and improve such texts based on one's own review and analysis and on the feedback of others
3. Research a topic that articulates an issue or problem, develop a well-reasoned argument on one's own by analyzing and evaluating others' work, and organize supporting detail.
4. Integrate source material and document sources into texts using MLA Style
