Human development from conception through the school years is described and related to current research and theories. An ecological approach is used to broaden the students' knowledge of the many systems which influence development. The interdependence among all aspects of growth and development is emphasized. The needs of infants and children at each age and stage are related to their day to day care and educational programs. Up to 30 hours of unsupervised field experience also required in this course.
