This introductory course in chemistry includes topics in atomic structure, bonding, chemical formulas, chemical equations, matter, measurement, periodicity, states of matter, mole calculations, stoichiometry, acid-base chemistry, buffer systems, electrochemistry, kinetics, equilibrium and solution chemistry. Laboratory experiments are chosen to be meaningful and practical so as to develop a greater understanding of lecture topics. Prerequisite: MTH 125- Intermediate Algebra or its equivalent. CHE 107 is recommended for students with no previous chemistry background. 4 cr. 3 Lec. 3 Lab.
