This humanities elective offers an introduction to the Spanish language and Hispanic cultures. Students will practice the four basic skills of listening comprehension, speaking, reading and writing with an emphasis on spoken communication. Students will also be encouraged to develop an appreciation for Hispanic cultures in this course. The course is designed for students who have no background in Spanish. It is not open to native speakers or to students with more than two years of high school Spanish. Prerequisite: None. 3 cr. 3 Lec.
