Planning a trip to Italy? Whether you're going for a vacation or for study abroad, your time will be much better if you learn some Italian before you go. In this course you will learn the basics of how to communicate, with an emphasis on things like directions, making hotel reservations and travel arrangements, ordering food, etc. You will also learn something about each of the regions of Italy, and will have an opportunity for more in-depth study of at least some of the places you plan to visit when you go. Students will learn through dialogues, role play, music, video clips, etc. Final grade will be based on participation, oral and written assignments, quizzes, and tests. ---PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS COURSE IS NOT INTENDED FOR THOSE WHO PLAN TO MAJOR OR MINOR IN ITALIAN, AS IT IS OUTSIDE OF OUR REGULAR LANGUAGE SEQUENCE AND DOES NOT OFFER A COMPREHENSIVE STUDY OF ITALIAN GRAMMAR
