This is an introductory health and wellness course which examines the biological basis of the rewards and risks of practicing yoga and mindfulness. This course will use interactive lecture, group work, guided movement and meditation practices to examine the relationship between yoga and wellness. This course emphasizes the anatomical and physiological bases of this relationship, however, no scientific background is required. Styles of yoga utilized include vinyasa, yin, restorative, aerial and various forms of meditation and breathing exercises. Assessments include two short writing assignments, weekly quizzes, and journaling assignments.
