You will learn the same curriculum as our on-campus students

The course explores the question of how we could decentralize History and open up the past to all of us without centralized and corporate demands. The subsequent and more specific question the course examines is how we could answer the first question by using blockchain and other distributed-ledger technology (DLT), to convert – or, tokenize – the past as a collection of real-world assets into digital forms – e.g., synthetic tokens – that are trustlessly verifiable by community consensus and smart contracts, invariable, and can be leveraged in DeFi, such as with derivatives. We will explore, especially, the Bitcoin economy – e.g., with Stacks and Discreet Log Contracts (DLC) – and other modes such as modular blockchains (Celestia), EVM L2s and subnets (Avalanche), and XRP’s non-blockchain DLT, to name a few.
