You will learn the same curriculum as our on-campus students
This course will begin with a brief, but thorough, overview of the structural and functional anatomy of the visual system. As the semester progresses, we will evaluate several theoretical and empirical perspectives in the study of vision. An integral part of the course will include evaluating how artists exploit many of the fundamental ways the visual system operates to create illusions, cinema, and classic art. Topics will explore how the visual system interprets information in the environment to create meaning and evaluate how different kinds of artists exploit visual cues to create perceptions of movement, light, shadow, and verisimilitude.
