You will learn the same curriculum as our on-campus students
After focusing on the history and the technical details of production in the first half of the semester, this course will shift into workshop mode in the second half, with students creating their own “non-mainstream” style comics. Readings will include Asian, American, and European comics, including the works of Osamu Tezuka, Belle Yang, Art Spiegelman, Joann Sfar, and Guy DeLisle with a special emphasis on “indie” comics and manga/manhwa from Japan and Korea and their cross-cultural influence.
