Wellness is a dynamic process of balancing
multiple lifestyle factors to achieve personal
heartiness and happiness. The connections between
personal choices and health outcomes are
emphasized, along with recognition of the
signs and symptoms of common causes of illness
and death in the United States. Students will be
introduced to strategies and resources which
enable them to make informed decisions about
their wellness. Topics discussed include: stress
management, diet, substance use, relationships,
sex and sexuality, exercise, and chronic and
communicable diseases.
