The course will review guidelines and system development life cycle for developing and implementing EHR strategies for healthcare organizations. Framework and conceptual models will be used to describe an electronic health record and the various components will be covered. Emphasis will be placed on the development, use, and maintenance of the electronic health records. Students will be required to complete activities with in a simulated electronic medical record system in and outside of the classroom.
Prerequisites: HIT 101, 102, 103, 108, and 110.
