Transitions to Professional Nursing Practice is an evidence- based course that provides an introduction to the philosophical, conceptual, and theoretical bases for the development of professional roles and practices for baccalaureate nurses. Course content includes application of the BSN Essentials and recognized standards of practice and performance in nursing upon safety and quality improvement initiatives. The foundations of professional practice development will include the impact of accountability, autonomy, and decision making on diverse professional nursing roles. Interprofessional communication and collaboration and the relationship to leadership, evidence- based practice, and development of critical reasoning, are integrated throughout the course. Prerequisite: UNIV 300 (3:3,0) Restricted to students enrolled in the following Major: Nursing
