This lecture course presents the components and monitoring of general anesthesia, use of anesthetic and monitoring devices, anesthetic drug calculations, fluid therapy, aseptic technique, surgical assisting, common small-animal surgical procedures, and care of the small- animal patient in and around the anesthetic period. Prerequisites: VETS 183 and BIOL 230 and [CHEM 120 or CHEM 180] with a grade of C or better. (3:3,0)
