This course focuses on the history, theory, and practice of arts management. It provides opportunities for practical application of theory and technique through projects such as research and case studies related to the development of marketing, business or strategic plans, arts manager?s portfolio, the role of arts manager in the community, and the development of arts organizations or programs. Comparisons between profit and not for profit organizations provide a context for issues of fundraising and various conceptual approaches to management.Prerequisites (must complete before registering): Prior knowledge, skills, or experience in art and business or management, as well as upper-level standing with advanced level academic skillsThis course was previously ART-223524 Arts Management.
