This course combines the knowledge from applied biological sciences, such as anatomy and physiology, and pairs it with physical sciences, such as physics, to understand human movement. Students will learn about body movement and its impact on the human body. They will also learn ways in which they can improve movement and reduce stress on the musculoskeletal system that can cause serious pain or injury. Students will engage in self-directed exercises that enable them to identify the kind of movement that involve specific groups of muscles, bones, and accompanying physiological processes. Completion of an introductory biology sequence that covers the human body is required. This course contains elements which rely on vision and motor skills to complete. If you have a visual or motor impairment and are considering registering for this course, it is recommended that you reach out to Accessibility Resources and Services (Disability.Services@sunyempire.edu) in advance of registration to determine if this course is appropriate and what alternatives may be available.
