This course provides students with an overview of the services that police agencies provide to the community. Programs, practices and techniques are
presented with an emphasis on lawful behavior, efficiency and effectiveness. Topics include, but are not limited to: the importance of effective communication, arrest procedures, patrol strategy, enforcement of vehicle and traffic laws, dealing with violent behavior, terrorism, juvenile crime, disaster preparedness, and ethical behavior.
