(Formerly A SOC 235.) What are the main characteristics of modern society? How are individuals affected by the fact that they live in society with other human beings? Durkheim, Marx, and Weber each offer answers to these questions. We will read what they had to say and see how their answers shaped the field of sociology. A SOC 335 must be completed with a C or better for the major in Sociology. Only one of A SOC 235 and A SOC 335 may be taken for credit. Prerequisite(s): A SOC 115.
