This course explores various psychological disorders in the context of theoretical, clinical, and experimental perspectives of the study of psychopathology. The course will provide an introduction to understanding abnormal behavior from several modalities, including etiology, assessment, diagnosis, research and evidence-based interventions regarding abnormal behavior. Course topics will include anxiety disorders, stress & mental health, mood disorders, somatic symptoms and dissociative disorders, personality disorders, schizophrenia & other psychotic disorders, sexual disorders, substance abuse disorders, childhood disorders, eating disorders, as well as issues of mental health related to gender and cultural differences.
