MT 534/434, Cell and Tissue Culture, introduces the concepts of cell and tissue culture, with specific laboratory exercises designed to expose the student, through the use of primary and established cell lines, to sterile technique, media preparation, quality control and cell line validation, passaging of nonadherent and adherent cells, cryopreservation, microscopy and digital photography. Cellular assays for viability, proliferation, invasion, and apoptosis are performed. Registration in MT 534/434 is limited to accepted MS and BS majors of BTE only.
Corequisites: MT 534LAB.
