The course offers an introduction to global art history from ancient to modern periods. Students will closely look at objects from different periods and cultures, while critically examining them. Also, students will learn to clearly communicate their ideas in writing through assignments. In the end, students will familiarize themselves with key themes in art history and acquire essential skills in reading and writing about works of art. Moreover, students will learn to analyze various political, social, and cultural influences that are represented in works and that shaped the production of works. By exploring various examples in different media from around the world, the course will equip students with fundamental and well-rounded knowledge and skills in art history.
