You will learn the same curriculum as our on-campus students
In this course, we will explore plants from the perspective of their biology, physiology, ecology, historical, and cultural uses on a regional and global scale. We will delve into how plants are currently used and how this use affects contemporary issues. Specifically, we will look at the use of plants in agriculture, industry, medicine, entertainment, and ecology. We will place particular emphasis on how plants are used with regards to sustainability and climate change. To accomplish this task, we will be utilizing the campus greenhouses and campus nature preserve as a living collection. You will have the opportunity to participate in making maple syrup and participate in several other activities that utilize regional plants.
