Take your class online with SUNY
You will learn the same curriculum as our on-campus students
This is a 2-credit, entirely online version of the Evolutionary Studies (EvoS) seminar series. This course will challenge students to examine a wide-range of topics (from the biological sciences to the social sciences to the humanities) from an evolutionary perspective. Each week will feature 2-3 video seminars, each of which are approximately 1 hour long, with material from behavioral evolution, evolutionary medicine, neuroscience, philosophy, religious studies, linguistics, and more. Each seminar is accompanied by 1-2 related articles, for which students are expected to provide a written commentary of approximately 450 words. Students will also engage in meaningful discussion with their fellow students regarding both the videos and readings. The course is designed to provoke interdisciplinary thought and broaden ones understanding of the relevancy of an evolutionary perspective to a multitude of disciplines. This course fulfills requirements for the EvoS certificate program.
