Intimate relationship science has advanced our understanding of how romantic partnerships are developed and maintained as well as their pervasive impact on mental and physical health outcomes. In this class, we will delve into the science of intimate relationships. We will discuss diverse aspects of intimate relationship functioning including communication, intimacy, discord, infidelity, dissolution, and treatment while considering differences across the lifespan and other cultural impacts. By the end of the course, you should have a better understanding of intimate relationships, including how they work, how they can be better, and how they influence every aspect of our lives.
Prerequisites: Course or Test: Transfer-PSYC 244
