Catalog Course Description

Students learn the economic, cultural, social, and political developments of human civilizations in Western Europe since 1648, and their relationships with the rest of the world, specifically the Americas, Asia, Africa, and Australia..

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon completing this course, students will be able to:

1. Identify major areas of European and Near Eastern geography.
2. Demonstrate knowledge of the distinctive features of the history, institutions, economy, society and culture of Western Civilization.
3. Demonstrate the ability to put the events and evolution of Western Civilization in a global context showing its relationship to and interaction with the rest of the world.
