Catalog Course Description
Students develop an understanding of how the American political system works. The primary focus is on the structures, functions, and manipulations of the national government.
Course Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. Explain the history of the U.S. Constitution.
2. Identify the function and powers of the three branches of the federal government as well as those of state/local governments.
3. Identify the history and evolution of civil liberties in American society.
