This is an introductory course that will focus on the study of the natural sciences of Long Island. It includes many aspects of earth and atmospheric sciences, fundamental principles of chemistry and physics, and an appreciation for natural resources. It will always include the consideration of people and how they have influenced the system under examination. This course will use a laboratory, field and a case study approach to give the students a "hands-on" approach to the fundamental principles of environmental analysis. There will be an emphasis on laboratory and field methodologies, data analysis, and technical communication within an interdisciplinary context.
