Catalog Course Description

Students learn the psychology, purposes, and objectives of supervising the work of others. Topics to be covered include techniques of supervision, employment interviews, testing and evaluating, classroom training, on-the-job training, labor laws affecting workers, equal opportunity and rights, and labor-management relations.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

1. Understand how organizations gain sustainable competitive advantage through people.
2. Understand how today’s human resource managers (or managers that utilize human resource management strategies) can assume an active role in the strategic planning and decision-making at their respective organizations.
