The General Studies program is designed to expose students to broad areas of human knowledge, humanities and fine arts, the natural sciences and mathematics, and the social sciences. Students work closely with an advisor to tailor a specific program according to their needs and interests.
This advising is of particular value to students who may be uncertain of the major they wish to pursue when they enter the College. General Studies students are well prepared to pursue a baccalaureate degree or to take advantage of specialized training offered by future employers.

- An associate degree usually takes two years of study and prepares students for employment or transfer to a bachelor’s program at a four-year university.
