The Healthcare Studies A.S. degree is designed to provide flexibility for students to meet the requirements aligned with their individualized transfer and career paths. The curriculum includes health-related courses such as introduction to healthcare and health professions, medical terminology, and nutrition as well as courses in the liberal arts and sciences including biology, anatomy and physiology, mathematics, and psychology.
 
The Healthcare Studies program prepares students to for successful transfer to a broad range of associate and baccalaureate programs in the health professions. Students will be prepared to apply to programs leading to a health career in nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, nutrition, public health, health information administration, dental hygiene, radiology, sonography and other health-related careers.

An associate degree usually takes two years of study and prepares students for employment or transfer to a bachelor’s program at a four-year university.
