Fredonia’s Literacy program is intended for initially certified teachers interested in an advanced degree and certification in literacy to teach children from birth to grade 12. The courses in the Literacy Education Master’s program strengthen the candidates' knowledge of effective planning, instructing, reflecting, and responding. Course work and instruction are rooted in a strong foundation of research-based practices and strategies, contextual factors that influence instruction, and standards for teaching and learning. The coursework is delivered online, asynchronously; however, the clinical field experience of the program is completed in person in a school or school-age program.

What's a master's degree?
