This course is intended to provide graduate students in technology programs with a conceptual background and initial experience in computer network installation and management. The course will emphasize the nature and structure of both local area networks and wide area networks involving a variety of computer platforms and operating systems. Students will develop an understanding of how to work with networking hardware and software, and to plan, select, install, manage, and maintain computer-based telecommunications networks including configuring and customizing the operating systems of computers and computer networks in various settings.
