This course will provide students with a comprehensive understanding of how data analytics and data management relate to the healthcare delivery system. Students are introduced to key topics and techniques associated with database management. The design, development, deployment, and evaluation of database systems will be discussed, as well as query languages, and HIPAA privacy and security regulations. Students will have hands-on experience utilizing various database applications throughout the course. Skills developed will be reinforced using case studies across various healthcare settings.
