Comic books have both reflected and shaped U.S. culture and society. Throughout the semester, students will examine how comic books illuminated major issues such as nationalism, urbanization, crime, economic inequality, environmental protection, sexism, gender roles, discrimination, civil rights, and the United States’ place in the world. Pre/corequisite: Placement into ENG 100- College Composition or higher. 3 cr. 3 Seminar.
