This course is an overview of the legal and ethical issues faced by healthcare administrators. Healthcare ethics, medical staff organization, physician liability, patient consent, reporting requirements, end-of-life issues, and patient rights and responsibilities as they impact the duty of healthcare administrators will be reviewed. The practical application of ethics in a healthcare setting, including review of case studies as well as real-world events related to healthcare administration will be discussed.
