For science majors or non-majors, this course explores, the role of biological, ecological, political, and, socioeconomic factors in emerging infectious diseases, and bioterrorism. Topics explored include the biology, of specific infectious diseases, the relationships, between disease agents and vectors, issues related, to vaccinations and other disease treatments, the, impact of globalization on the spread of emerging, infectious diseases, government agencies and disease, prevention, food safety, the history and current status, of bioterrorism, and societal impacts of emerging, infectious diseases and bioterrorism.
