Take your class online with SUNY
You will learn the same curriculum as our on-campus students
This course examines the knowledge and skills necessary to perform in a variety of leadership roles and responsibilities at the district level. New this semester will be the introduction to project management and its potential in school leadership. The course will incorporate literature-based themes/lessons as well as lessons from those in the field and your own experiences. A variety of guest speakers will share their perspectives concerning school finance, instruction, BOCES, the superintendency, and lessons learned from the trenches. Your experience component focuses on school finance and budgeting. The purpose of the field experience is to help you address two questions: How did (name of school district) develop the budget for next year, and What did I learn about district leadership in relationship to school finance and the budget building process?
