This course is designed to introduce the unique aspects of health sciences librarianship, providing real-life examples of how it differs from typical career tracks in the library sciences. Topics covered by the course will include health sciences librarianship careers in academia as well as in the clinical/hospital setting, biomedical databases and sources, research questions from clinicians as well as consumers, scholarly communications issues in health sciences librarianship, and evidence-based practice (and how librarians can be involved).
