History 111 is a survey of the major social, economic, political, cultural, and intellectual dynamics that have shaped Western Civilization from the emergence of humankind to 14th Century. Areas to be included are Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece, Rome, and emergence of Western European Kingdoms. The course will also examine the development and interaction of the three major monotheistic religions – Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Prerequisite: None. 3 cr. 3 Lec.
