Catalog Course Description

The basic principles of sales theory are explored in both retail and industrial applications. This course also draws heavily from the behavioral sciences, especially psychology and sociology. Areas covered include the role of selling in the American economy, consumer motivations, planning an effective sales presentation and the introduction to the field of sales management.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

1. Understand how organizations gain sustainable competitive advantage through people.
2. Understand how today’s human resource managers or managers that utilize human resource management strategies can assume an active role in the strategic planning and decision-making at their respective organizations.
3. Participate in 135 hours of coursework, which will be completed by the last class session.
