Catalog Course Description
This course is the capstone for the Nursing Program. Students explore the transition from student to graduate nurse. Preparation for the National Council Licensure Examination-RN (NCLEX-RN) licensing exam and individual assessment of learning progress is emphasized along with exploration of contemporary healthcare issues applicable to the role of the professional nurse.
Course Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. Incorporate study skills, stress management techniques, and test taking strategies to prepare the graduate nurse to take the NCLEX-RN. 2. Identify areas in need of further study to create an individualized study plan for the NCLEX-RN. 3. Assume responsibility and accountability within the nurse’s legal scope of practice. 4. Use self-directed critical thinking approach to analyze data and information from multiple sources as a basis for decision-making in nursing.
