Catalog Course Description

This course is based on learning and practicing personal responsibility for one's own physical fitness and wellness. Students are guided and motivated to make positive behavior decisions related to cardiovascular exercise, weight control, and stress management. Emphasis is on reducing or eliminating high risk lifestyle behaviors such as smoking, stress, obesity, negative nutrition, and alcohol and drug abuse.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

1. Perform exercise.
2. Demonstrate progress in personal physical fitness.
3. Identify and describe exercise facts and a basic knowledge of fitness.
4. Perform self-evaluation of fitness status.
5. Demonstrate problem solving-decision making for lifetime fitness.
6. Describe the requirements to achieve a healthy lifestyle.
7. Demonstrate how to achieve wellness.
8. Demonstrate problem solving-decision making for lifetime wellness.
